How to recover files from SD card

The step-by-step instruction of recover files from SD card is as following:

Step 1: Launch the software and Select the SD Card

Launch the REMO Recover (Windows) Digital Media Recovery Software, a list of drives found in the system will be listed, select the SD Card/drive which contains the deleted/lost images and click “NEXT” (as shown in Figure a).

Step 2: Select the File Type You Wish to Scan

After you click “Next” the application will ask you to select the file type to recover. A window will appear as shown in Figure b to select the file type for images, videos and music files. Select the file types you wish to recover and click “Next”. You can also use the “Select All” button which will check all the available choices.

The program will now scan the SD card for deleted/lost files. With its distinctive and special disk scanning technology the application will collect and analyze every byte on the SD card and show you the list of found files and folders in a tree format (as in Figure c).

Step 3: Scan results screen

In the results screen, files found will be sorted by file type selections that you have made. Select the file or folders that you want to recover and press “SAVE” button (see Figure c).

Step 4—Preview the File before Saving

You can double click on the found file to preview before recovery or, you may right click on the selected file and select “Preview” option from the menu (as shown in Figure e).

Step 5: After you click the Save button, a window will popup to select destination location to restore recovered data (See Figure d).

REMO Recover (Windows) Digital Media Recovery Software includes two options to save the recovered data.

  1. Save data to local drive
  2. Burn data to CD/DVD

If you choose to save data to local drive and specify the file types you wish to ignore during restoration process, check if you want the data to be saved in compressed form and click OK. Now the program starts saving the data to selected destination location of your choice.

After the saving is complete a message will popup intimating the same. All the data will be restored in a new folder by name “UndeleteX “. You can now access your recovered data as before.

CAUTION: Do not save the recovered data to the drive from which data is being recovered.
