An SD Card is a specially designed flash memory card, which is small in size, but can provide high amount of data storage capacity. They are widely used in small hand held devices such as cameras and mobile phones. SD card data loss is a common occurrence, and there are definitive ways to get around this problem.

There are some precautions that you should take, to avoid data loss in memory cards,

I recommend that you make a backup copy of important data, since some or all data recorded on the card may get corrupted or erased by electrical noise, static electricity or card malfunctions.

Do not allow dirt, water or foreign objects to come into contact with the terminals on the back of the card. Do not touch the terminals with your hands or metal objects.

Please note that SD cards formatted or edited by using other manufacturers’ cameras, a computer or application programs, may not operate correctly in your camera.
We recommend that you use the SD cards that have been formatted in your camera.
The card supplied with your camera may be used without further formatting.

When a SD card is formatted, all the data present on the card is deleted. But there is nothing to worry, as they are not permanently erased from the card. Since they are just marked for deletion, you can undelete pictures from SD card using a data recovery software.

REMO Recover (Windows) Media Edition software lets you undelete pictures from SD card using the easy-to-use interface, and the variety of features that the software provides. The software also lets you preview the recovered files, before you actually save them.

Hard drives being the dynamic storage devices are extremely easy to use and handle. Data stored on a hard drive is not exactly safe, this is true indeed. Data on hard drives may be lost due to various causes like hard drive crash, virus, sabotage, accidental deletion, formatting/reformatting and many more. Unfortunately, there is no full proof remedy to prevent data loss.

If you have important information on your crashed hard drive that needs to be restored? Are you unsure of how to recover lost hard drive data? This article provides you with information you need to learn how to recover files from hard drive . Well, recovering your hard work will require figuring out the best data recovery tool. Disk Doctors Data Recovery Software family has easy to use applications that can recover files from a hard drive having logical failure.

Precautionary steps to be taken in case of a hard drive crash

Stop working on the drive

Do not run any repair utility for e.g. “chkdsk ”, as this further may cause permanent data loss

Do not try and save or reinstall any thing on the crashed hard drive

Remove the crashed hard drive from the machine and connect it to another healthy system as a secondary drive and run Disk Doctors Windows Data Recovery Software

To recover data from crashed Windows hard drive follow these simple steps with Disk Doctors Windows Data Recovery Software.

Step 1: Install Disk Doctors Windows Data Recovery Software and run the application by double clicking the icon on the desktop or run it from the programs list from the Start menu. This will launch the application main window as shown in Figure a.

Figure a: Program Main Window

Step 2: Select ‘Recover your Data’ option from the ‘Wizard window’ and click on ‘Next’ button to continue (See Figure b).

Figure b: Select Appropriate Option

As you click the ‘Next’ button, a window will be displayed to select the disk from which you wish to recover your data (see Figure ‘c’).

Figure c: Select source disk

Step 3: Select a source drive and the processing mode to process the drive. The software provides two processing modes: Display default partitions and Search for lost partitions. By default the processing mode is set to ‘Display default partitions’. As you click ‘Next’ button, the application analyses the drive and lists all the found partitions in the partition table as shown in Figure ‘d’.

Figure d: Partition Table

Step 4: Select a partition for processing and click Finish button. The application processes the partition and displays the found files and folders in a tree structure as shown in Figure ‘e’.

Digital Cameras are very popular now-a-days. Digital cameras require small memory cards for storing data in it. A flash card is a simple solid state memory device that is used in a digital image device such as still photo camera or video camera. The types of files stored on flash cards range from simple JPEG files to AVI and MOV files. Flash cards are quite prone to data loss if not handled properly. Accidental deletion is the most common of data loss in flash cards. So to overcome such type of data loss problems you can use Disk Doctors Digital Media Recovery Software.

A new hard drive always requires formatting for storing data. By the process of formatting we divide the hard drive storage space into multiple tracks, sectors and clusters. Many-a-times we are forced to reformat our hard drives because of hard disk errors, start-up problems and invalid commands that prevent our computers performance. However the basic reason for reformatting a drive includes slow start, virus attack, system error, bad sector and many other problems.

During this formatting we sometime format the wrong drive or we forget to take backup of important files. We may accidentally formatting the whole drive instead of formatting a single drive, and thus result in data loss. If you have lost documents, files and vital information after reformatting your hard drive, don’t panic because there is a way to get them back. With Disk Doctors Windows Recovery software, it is possible to recover files from a reformatted partition (to any file system), corrupted, deleted or missing partition.

CAUTION: Once you lost data due to format, please stop using the formatted hard drive and hurry up to get the data recovery software to do format recovery because if the formatted hard drive is overwritten, you will lose the chances to recover the data forever.

With these simple step-by-step guidelines and Disk Doctors Windows Data Recovery Software, you can trace and recover files after format safely and effectively.

Figure a: Program Main Window

Step 2: The main window contains a “Wizard window”. Select ‘Recover your Data’ option and click on ‘Next’ button to continue (See Figure b).
